NYE

A look back on last year’s NYE reception!

For those who don’t know, my husband John and I eloped on NYE in Seattle, where we fell in love, 2 years ago- on the beach. I wore my grandmothers fur and a beautiful blush BHLDN wedding gown that I ordered online a few weeks before the big day. The morning of we walked down to Pike’s Place Market, picked out a bouquet and the rest is history! It was the perfect laid back kind of wedding we had always wanted.

So when it came time for a reception we decided to keep it simple, keep it small, and throw a party for our friends and family that we would want to go to! Soon after we started planning we found out we were expecting our little baby Teddy! (all that bubbly and none for me!)I mean what is a NYE party without champagne? Over 100 mini bottles of champagne, a full bubbly bar, sparklers, noisemakers, party hats... all the fun traditional New Years loot made our night extra special!

One of my biggest regrets from our reception is not getting better pictures of our event! We covered the event space with wall to wall tissue tassels across the ceiling! Black, metals, dark green and white tissue tassels made it even more fun to ring in the new year in this festive space!

Our favorite local bakery provided us with our fab donut bar instead of traditional cake and cupcakes for our party guests! As you can see, I was sooooo pregnant already and spent most of my time with my shoes off, eating donuts on the couch ....

Some of my favorite elements that I didn’t get to enjoy because of my bun in the oven we’re the amazing tacos from our favorite local taco truck and our champagne bar! John and I are definitely taco people, and we were so thrilled to have our favorite spot join us for our day!

Besides the champagne bar, we also had a few kegs for the fellas and plenty of space on the dance floor for our younger party guests to enjoy! One of my favorite memories from the night was definitely our champagne cheers at midnight ( with those of us who made it to midnight lol) nothing like a room full of people smooching in the new year ;)
